All the sensors, internal harness pulled off. Neutral safety switch is cracked so going to have to replace that.

For the internal harness removal a 12 point 1 1/4" socket slipped over the plug and it pried right out, no need to spend $18 on the tool.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand more bad news, whatever let go took some big chunks out of the overdrive planet (I think that's what it is), we will see when it all comes apart how much this build is going to cost, so far its at $350 for the trans, hope to keep it under $1000

Whatever you need for the 80 let me know will pull apart my own trans or get parts from my trans guy to make good on this, I know I was able to drive the van up onto the flat bed thats why I relayed you that info no one should have pulled the harness out of it , I never had the pan off. The only 80e I have left is 4wd for my truck ...... let me know

I picked up an ATSG manual from ebay for like $25, I read it was the one most used, its a 2003. I've never been inside a transmission before and since I've got the time I went for it

Used parts are always a gamble, win some / lose some so the offer is much appreciated. Should be coming apart in the next week or two, I'll check it out and go from there.

Had some time tonight and pulled off everything valve body related and the tail shaft, removed the pump bolts and called it quits. I dont have the tool to pull the pump but I know guys get away without it so off to the search button I go.

Some parts of the case look a little funky so i'm hoping they are normal and I just dont know what im looking at. Aside from the broken teeth on the overdrive planet everything else looked good so i'm hoping a basic rebuild kit will do the trick. Waiting for some guys in the drivetrain section to confirm.

Well after checking in the drivetrain section, the chunked teeth in the above pic are actually cast that way, learn something new everyday.

Dug a little deeper at the suggestion that the metal in the pan was the OD roller clutch springs and sure enough.

$15 part

Since I am in here though i'm going to go ahead and do a full rebuild, HD sprag and shift kit. Saw stock48 saying he has 4+ years of DD, 100 track passes with a best in the 9's on a similar build and its still holding strong.

Looking to go somewhat away from the normal transgo and calling up jakes performance to talk about their shift/rebuild kits, hope to start the rebuild next week.
