That got my attention as I recently had the alternator apart for a repair. I need to shoot my Tahoe to see if the alternator is as hot on it. It makes sense though, a big aluminum bracket attached to a big mass of copper makes for a great engine heat sink.

The cameras we have are made by Flir. The one used for those pics was a E5 which is a basic more budget minded camera. We also have a few T-series cameras that have higher resolution and more features. Fluke also makes a good IR camera similar to the Flir E-series. The most basic IR cameras will be a grand or more and just go up from there. Flir does have a smart phone addon (Flir One) that I think is only $250 or so.

I have been doing a lot of work on the truck the last few months getting it ready for LS Fest back in September. Mostly consisted of suspension work. Flip kit, Assissan-like traction bars, RideTech single adjustable shocks in the rear. The front suspension got totally rebuilt with new poly bushings on uppper and lower control arms, new Moog upper and lower ball joints, McG's 16" drop spindles and RideTech single adjustable coil-overs. I also fitted some Race Star 17x4.5 with M&H 28x4.5 bias ply fronts and 15x10 with Hoosier 295/65/15 drag radials. I went with this tire choice for the lightest combo that was DOT approved so I could run True Street type classes. All of our local tracks have been closed so the first chance I had to test the new setup was at LS Fest. In previous years I have always had a bit of traction issues there but I was plesently suprised when it dead hooked on the first pass to a mid 1.6x 60'. The larger rollout of the 29.5" tire definately helped traction but I think I may need to step up my gear a bit for the track. I am torn because I really like the 3.73 on the street. A few pics to keep attention...

Now on to other issues I was fighting throughout the event. There is a boost fluctuation that is erratic from 13-15psi. IAT are still stupid high and the twin 255lph fuel pumps are tapped out. Over the winter I will be focusing on the supercharger cooling system and the fuel system.

It was good to see you there.

I think I have a video of one of your runs, I'll post it when I find it.

Curious as to what PN you came up with for the rear shocks, I'm running 22189841 on mine along with 4.1 stroke for the front. Truck looks good man!

I'm running the smooth body 6.65" stroke (12.15-18.8) HQ shocks on the rear, pn 22179841. I am also using the 4.1 up front with a 2" spindle.

does your blower have coolant running in the front and rear, or just the rear?
