Default LQ4 Build

Just got my 6.0 home. Bout to pull it off the truck and tear it down. I have pictures that I will upload when I get my computer. Let the work begin.

A little info: LQ4 said to have come from a 2004 denali. Obviously the miles arent what i thought but its whatever. The plans are to tear it down to bare block. Get everything cleaned and see how it looks after that to determine whether i reuse stock bottom end or not. I am undecided on cam/spring combo but do plan to have the 317 heads p&p and valve job. New lifters, valves, pushrods, etc. Undecided on intake setup, and I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for looking guys.
-Matt

Back to the comp. Will upload pics in a minute. Ran into a snag trying to find an engine hoist!

I know it's a little bit dirty, and by looking at it seems like it may have not been taken care of/been sitting for a minute. Anyway, I looked close and crosshatching is still visible, but once everything is disassembled and cleaned I can go from there. Will be taking many pictures so stay tuned for more updates.

370 in my future? Maybe, we wil see what it looks like after a good cleaning. Might be tomorrow when I can start though. Gotta buy a few things when I get my paycheck.

hopefully its just surface rust for ya, when i opened mine i had next to no surface rust but had a spot on one cylinder wall where the rust made a nice little groove so i had to go 370.

I might not work tomorrow (weather pending). And I will be able to put some time into it. It really just seems like slight surface rust. Either way, I'm liking the 370 idea. I need to price things out fr a 370 build and compare.
