I wouldn't go 370 unless you need to. I only went .005" over to a 365 so if something happens, I still have some meat left to bore it again if need be. I'd be willing to bet that's all you'd need as well, maybe .010" over at most.

Got everything torn down to the bare block. Cleaned what I could with 2 cans of Brake Cleaner. Everything is in great shape. Cylinders only need a light hone. Gonna get quotes from the machine shop: hot tank (or other method of cleaning), polish crank, p&p heads, valve job, light hone. Maybe I can get a better deal if I get it all done. Took a few hours once we got a balancer puller. Here are pics for you picture ******. ::

I'm really excited and a lot more optimistic about the project now that I know everything is still in good condition. I can also save some $$$.
Will let you all know what I hear from the machinist.

Were you ever 6.0 or did you swap from 5.3? Asking cause I wanted to know how different it was compared to being stock bore. And did you used forged parts or were there not any other options?

I swapped out the stock 5.3 to the 6.0. Didnt go forged cause i have no plans for boost, but the forged parts are out there. Block cleaned up good!

im about to pull apart a 6.0 that i just picked up yesterday...im hoping for ALOT less surface rust than you found. How many miles were supposed to be on that motor and how long did it sit for before you bought it?

@SlickSierra Ok. What was the difference in compression, if you know, and where did you make up for it/what is your current compression. I have been looking into the kbracing kits. Maybe I go forged with the stock bore.. Cause as much as I have already cleaned the cylinders only a light hone is necessary.

@zachm89 I think most of the **** in my cylinders was a mixture of coolant, carbon deposits and water. I really have no idea how long it sat but its supposed to have around 60k. Other than a few spots in the cyl walls, 85-90% of crosshatching is there.

I didn't get a chance to call the machine shop today cause of work. Hopefully tomorrow I can get something accomplished in those regards. Will let yall know!

Compression depends on which pistons you go with, flat tops or stock dish, i got stock oversize dish pistons so cr is stock.

Cool. Was there a huge price difference in goin with 370? As far as cost for the block work +pistons. Did you reuse stock rods?

Well pistons were like 600 or so but the machine work wasnt much. And yes I reused the rods.
