So I stripped all the shiny aluminum paint and sanded/primer/painted with some high heat aluminum color. It looks a ton better to me

There's one valve cover and a spot on the timing cover that just has some bad casting and couldn't get it smooth but it'll be mostly covered up anyways when all the BS is on it anyways.

Nice build you got going there, a little cleaning and painting does wonders for appearance.

Gotta touch up the block again due to some overspray but not bad for a rattle can job. Still up in the air on putting a chain dampner in

Will be ordering cam soon

Well I almost forgot I had started this thread.

My 5.3 **** a lifter and more than likely a cam lobe as well so I had to finish as quickly as possible on this build.

I found some 799 heads that had been lightly ported on intake and med/heavy porting on exhaust that had come off a turbo truck. Had 8K miles on em so I snatched em up.

Here is some videos of start up and idle.

When we first started up it wasn't right

After some checking it ended up being five bad injectors thast came with the tbss/nnbs intake I had bought, so I put the 5.3 injectors in and reflashed my old 5.3 tune in because the startup tune had diff injector values.

Soooo, here is the first actual startup

Idle video
