Sorry for not keeping up with the build. After seeing Swerve's new build I thought I would update this one.
Ended up specking myself a comp cam and ran .051 gasket so c/r is right at 11:1. Transmission is a th400 rmvb with transbrake and the converter is a borrowed 10" jegs or tci that flashes to 4000. I got the car running in October with the 26x8.5 tires and went 10.47@128 first time out running out of gear (had to bump the limiter to 7300 and was still hitting it the last 50 ft of track).
I put the 28x10's off my old blue truck and the best it has gone is 10.35@130. Best 60' footbrake is 1.41 and 1.39 on transbrake and 2step set to 4k. On that 1.39 pass I ended up smacking the wall head on past the 1/4 mile stripe. Car was moving around bad on the top end so I let out slowly and made it worse. On that pass it would have been 10.20's because my ticket was 10.39@116. I am still learning about mustang suspension and have come to the conclusion that the alignment was off and the car has lots of bump steer. I'm planing to get it to a frame/body shop next month so I can get it going again.
Race weight is around 3000 and I weigh 200. With a reflowed carb and a custom 8" converter it should dip into the 9's.
old pic. engine now has a 1 wire alternator and truck bracket.
letting my best friend make a pass...
