Alright my parts from Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts came in this week so I went ahead and did the install. I based this off of Ak2007r6's set up he made except I used a foot section of aluminum pipe from the website.
A few pictures of the stock intake tube and how much crap is on it that doesn't need to be:
Here are the parts I ordered. A 90 degree 4" elbow, one foot of 4" aluminum pipe, a 4" to 3.75" reducer, and three 4" t-bolt clamps and a 3.75" t- bolt clamp
Installation wasn't too bad, but the MAF is at an angle where its connected to the air box. I loosened it and turned it slightly and re tightened it. Then installed the piping, elbow, and reducer and got everything adjusted to where I could tighten it all up.
Instead of running the vent line from the valve cover to the intake tube, I just went to O'reilly's and picked up a spectre filter and attached it like this:
And here is a picture of everything installed:
I used this existing connecter that was on the radiator hose to help keep it off of the intake tube to avoid the excessive temps from the hose:
