So the Internet actually figured this out before GM did. But with the creation of the Escalade V, exhaust engineers wanted it to sound more crisp and even VS the standard truck rasp/pop. Rather than re-architect the chassis to fit the exhaust and be more like a Durango/Grand Cherokee. They added a "loop" to the shorter tube prior to the x-pipe that adds length to the essentially make it equal length.

I have seen a few people do something similar. This was my attempt to clean up what I have found for examples:

That swap is likely on hold. Since Powertrain Swap Solutions released their almost universal 10 Speed swap setup. I will likely go that route if I keep the truck long enough to do it. I've been looking at crew cabs again...

I considered making fixtures to replicate but honestly, anyone willing to pay for the craftsmanship I've put into this, will buy a name brand setup instead. lol

That was my next thought. But space on the RCSB is kinda at a premium.

Now how does it sound compared to before?

My truck was originally just a muffler delete. and it had that typical truck snappy/poppy exhaust and it often made me feel like i was driving a 80's **** box. Wear as my vette is so crisp and clean. Any trucks I've seen done with a "equal length" setup. Sound phenomenally better than a standard truck exhaust.

I had a Borla pro xs with an x pipe in all factory size and exit before this. It was the typical pop pop that sounded like a truck. This new one is much smoother sounding.
