My 2007 Silverado Build...again
#776
I had a situation come up where I needed a considerable amount of money right then and that was the only stuff I could live without. It sucks and I didn't want to do it, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
The turbo kit is in good hands and will be used as it should. The motor will also be put through the paces. It's going in a 70 camaro and getting twins put on it.
The truck is down, but I'm not done with it by any means. I kept my intake, fuel system, injectors and the transmission, all the stuff that eats up so much money to finish up a build. I can throw a junkyard 4.8 in it, build my own hotpipes, buy a cheap ebay intercooler kit and have back on the road in a week if I just can't stand not driving it anymore.
For the past couple years I've been telling myself I want to take a considerable amount of weight out of the truck. I may take this opportunity of it being down for an extended period to make that happen. I.e. manual rack, manual brakes, lightweight alternator bracket, redo some cross members, ditch bumper for a bumper cover with lightweight skeleton behind it, put my kirkeys in it, remove a/c(still iffy on that one). I'd like to go down the track at 3800#
Soooo...For now tentative plans/dream is:
build my own hot pipes/cold side
BIG turbo in the grill
something stupid with the downpipe(s)
Motor: unsure
My badboy 4L80 with brake
manual rack
manual brakes
LOTS of weight reduction. Need to lose 600# between me and the truck
some suspension stuff
No matter what happens with it, I will always be able to drive it anywhere I want. Street truck, not race truck LOL
One last drive

My only cost since we did it ourselves was lug shanks. I think they were $50 for 20?
Moser will weld and re drill your axles, but I don't know the cost. Or they have axles on the shelf for the trucks for whatever bolt pattern you want for $296+ shipping.
