My 427 Build (e.g. New and Improved BRT transformed into a C5!)
#115
I just started the car and let it warm up
I built a tune from scratch using an 02 Vette base tune to start (to match the PCM, and so I can move to a custom OS in the very near future -- the Z06 tunes only have COS#3 for some reason and I want #5). Then I modified the VE, spark, MAF, and idle tables to match a Z06, changed my cylinder size, updated the IFR (programming out the returnless fuel in favor of the return system I have).
I added all my fluids and left the injectors and coils disconnected so that I could build some oil pressure and spin all the pumps. Then I connected everything and it started and ran on the first try. It was dead nuts cold so it was a little rough in the beginning, but smoothed out as it warmed up.
I'll still have some cam tuning to do (off the gas decel is rough), but the tune is pretty good for never having tuned this cam before My wife thinks I'm a tuning god rather than just lucky lol.
All that's left is to reconnect the front suspension (I wanted it up in the air for the first start so I could check for leaks), and put all the interior back in, bleed the brakes, slap on my brand new gloss black 09 z06 spyders from Jason@corvette-wheels and go!
Oh yeah, and pesky little things like registering the car, getting a license plate...
WOOOOO
