I replaced the engine, did an 02 PCM conversion, converted to a manual, rebuilt the suspension, changed the carpet, put in c6 Z06 seats, new tires and wheels... whew.

I **LOVE** the lsx block, but more on that later...

First, some pics of the car (and wheels)!

Why I **LOVE** the lsx block in 18 pictures or less

First, the good news. I finally think I've found the misfire on #2. I've been through *every* related system and found issues... First, the coil pack wiring had melted through the signal wire insulation and the ground wire. Boom easy fix!

Except, I still had a miss (even though it ran better). I found a similar problem on the injector wiring for #2. Fixed that. Boom easy!

It ran better, except still had a miss. Today, I check compression... #2 was low. Here's what I found:

First, the rocker was loose on the pedestal... The locking nut was in three pieces (it either lost the allen locking stud or cracked and then the allen stud walked itself out) for the intake valve. Rocker is a bit roughed up but fine (gotta love Crane Race Golds). I stole a locking nut from the truck project and tried to adjust the valve but noticed I could not get the pushrod to seat in the rocker arm cup.

Here's why:

DOH! Btw, those pictures also show why I love this block... To get at the lifters, you just take off the manifold and the valley cover. 20 minutes and you're looking at your lifters.

BUT, it gets better. A short time later and I was getting in trouble with the wife for making the island counter top oily...

I'm not sure which came first, the borked rocker arm or the broken lifter (well, not really broken, the clip came out and evidently decided to travel to the oil pan, so the rest of the lifter said "f@ck it" and came apart too).

As I type this, I have a new lifter already installed (stole it from the truck project wooooo!). I should button it back up tomorrow and time the #2 cylinder (barring freak mishaps and/or broken plastic parts :*****: GM!!!)

What caused all that to go wrong?

Either the rocker nut was cracked/bad and took out the lifter or the lifter came apart and took out the rocker. I'm betting the rocker nut.
