that sucks about the whole dead 408, but a 427 in its place will be leathal!

I FOUND WHERE THE METAL CAME FROM...

One of the cam bearings is chewed up. Yechy. Of course, I only saw it after I fully disassembled the bottom end... No big deal though, the bearings should be swapped anyway.

Pics later -- gotta go to a car show with my 5 year old before he explodes.

Good news that. I'm not even going to step up the exhaust housing for now. If it's a problem I'll source new housings this winter and coat them then.

At least it is a John Deere... Looks like a LA series to me.. maybe a LA110, or 120?

So are you going to reuse any of these parts?
