looked through the whole build thread, you have done a great job, i was hoping to see a engine transplant then came the 5.3 and a very good choice in 5.3s specially with the 799 heads.. perfect intake, but if you really want that intake to shine then get the heads ported, the intake is gonna need it with the straight shot and big opening, the long runners are gonna amount to alot of torque, and the plentum is redicously huge for grabbing more air. anything smaller than a 102mm throttlebody will only choke the motor down.. also if youre gonna run maf get the 100mm anytime to go to a bigger or aftermarket intake you gott compensate for it and by doing that the heads have to match the air coming and going along with the exhaust, you do it right and get a custom grind cam and you'll end up with one sick daily driver and well maintained on the street.

Not sure how I'll do the fast intake

heads are going to need it unless i have them blown apart and hot tanked to fully clean them,

I'm actually thinking of just painting the cast sections of the heads, the machined sections are MUCH easier to clean, but I was going to use the aluminum paint like I'll be using on the water pump and brackets.

Swapped out the oil pickup since I have to use a LH8 oil pan (colorado/canyon/h3) since the silverado one won't work, and the oil pickup was too long so I had to use a LH8 one. However I did get a new windage tray but I saw no need to swap it out.

LH8 pan, it will be staying the cast aluminum color

and another reason why I can't use the pan
