My (re)build thread

Only thing i would recommend is to get with Rick over at Synergy and get him to spec. you a cam.
You would be surprised of the gains you can see for a properly spec. cam for a FI application!

As far as a build sheet for the long block, check out BlownChevys FS thread. That's the motor that's going in it. I'm not positive on all the specs since Brian and myself haven't finalized anything... But the basics are:
5.3 block (bored to 5.7)
LS2 crank
Probe rods/pistons (9.4:1)
ARP studs/bolts throughout
WCCH stage II 317 heads
Complete Crane valvetrain w/ roller rockers
GT2-3 cam
Derek, I'm looking into an Isky turbo cam similar to what Stock48 has been running, but I think even the Lingy cam would do fine for my uses.
I'm putting a whole new interior in the truck while its down too... SS seats, new carpet, and new interior trim panels. The seats will be here this week...
Blue2003, I honestly don't know how many miles are on this trans I put it in almost 2yrs ago and changed clusters since then and didn't really keep track of it. There's nothing wrong with it now but Vince wants it back to update some things for me that they didn't have available when it was originally built. And yes, the 70E is in the same 60/65/70E case so it will bolt right back in. Just a bit stronger. Looking forward to putting it back in and not touching it for sevral more years I have torture tested this 65E, and it has loved every second of it. Which is why I'm not hesitating to put another one of their units behind this new power.

Thanks Brian!!!
There won't be any butt-mounts blowing thru this one...
If I can find some time, I'm going to pull the pass. head off the 5.3 and see what I can see since that's where the racket seems to be coming from.... Ill take some pics, I'm sure its not going to be pretty though then again I kinda want to leave everything in tact until I get the new motor.... I guess I could pull the trans though and get it ready to go back.
