I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1-I saw in a few of the pictures of you guys working on the engine, where you put what appears to be a custom made baffle in the oil pan, what experiences led you to install this?

2-What year 6.0 are you using? I would think the newer ones might take more abuse with the newer style rods and coated pistons.

3-What are the extent of the modifications to the 4L80? Judging by the pictures, it appears to be just a shift kit. Is it the trans go HD-2?

Thanks for your time, I LOVE what you are doing with this project.

shift kit and the vacume mod for the tranny. pretty sure it was the hd-2 kit.

no special baffle. that is a gto pan. we needed a front sump and thats what we came up with.

6.0 is an 01 or 02. anything 01 or newer is good. no idea if the newer ones are better or not. i dont think the rods will be the first thing to go but the coating you speak of might help.

thanks!

last night at the track we ran into a new issue. we think our meth fuel pumps are dying all ready. if soo then wow, that was fast. at the time we couldn't find any pumps we liked so we just went with some basic non alcohol rated pumps.

we found this pump http://www.titanmotorsports.com/18hpefistinf.html wich appears to be bad ***. we are going to give it a try and see what happens. should be going back to the track again next friday.

drag week is coming up fast. i hope we get these bugs worked out by then. i am still blown away with how nice it drives. i was kind of dreding riding in that car during drag week but now i am pumped up about it.

finely had a good night at the track. no major issues with the car. made lots of runs with incremental improvements.

soo, right now we are running e85 for our 2nd fuel. iats drop nicely but not fast like the meth. power seems down quite a bit from the meth BUT it was 90deg last night compared to 70deg or so last time we went to the track.

at around 9.5psi our best run was 6.85@102 with a 1.65 60' john tried working on the 60' and that is probably as good as it will get without some help like spray off the line or transbrake. goal is to get some nitrous on there so we can hit it off the line and see how it likes that.

we are hoping to knock at least .2 off of that 60' with the spray. when the fuel lab pump comes back we will try some meth again. a cooler night should help and eventually we can turn up the boost. lots of fun ahead.

forgot about the tranny controller. we are using a microsquirt to run the 4l80e. it is working well. it's not a cheap solution but it is pretty slick. john the computer geek has a touch pad mounted in the car that shows mph, gear, trans temp, engine temp, rpm.
