now for some REAL power!!

searches have been inconclusive for nv3500 output shaft sizes for some reason.
today, i even stopped by the trans shop that replaced my t-case a couple years ago just to see what notes they had on it, but they weren't no help... basically ended with "just pull it apart & count".
once this is all done, i'll need to figure out what trans to use in the wife's H3 when we eventually do a v8 swap
when does it end?

Hopefully never... I have a friend deep into his 70's still building race cars, just got him into LS world last year. Now he has 3 LS powered Chevys, one 57 and 2 69 camaros. Be cool if I'm still able pull it all off when I'm his age...

so the nv4500 clutch came in, and go figure... the release bushing was in a dozen pieces. the rest looked fine, though... but they want me to return the entire thing to swap it for one the should hopefully arrive with the throw-out intact.
after looking up part numbers for the whole throw-out bearing assembly (to include the sleeve), it's the same part number as what's on my nv3500 that's only 2.5yrs old (29k mi).
that got me to thinking i should be able to simply swap it over & be alright, right?
and then it dawned on me a minute ago... ain't the throw-out PART of the slave on these? here's my slave (also same part # as current but i already have a new one here):
since this sits on the input shaft of the transmission, that's a new release bearing/bushing on top, right? meaning the busted one's of no consequence, right?
i'm just trying to drop my truck off tomorrow, so i'd rather not delay another week if i ain't gotta.
and sorry to sound like a retard... it's been 10yrs since i've torn into this trans myself, and even then, i had my uncle (40yr mechanic) talking me through a bit of it.

still waiting and been DDing my car for the last couple weeks - thank the Lord for TX "winters"
they initially said they should be able to start on it around the 3rd, so (expecting to be bogged down at work all last week) i dropped it off on the 27th... but got a call that saturday saying my students were snowed in... meaning i rolled my class a week to the right (so i'm up to my neck this week & next).
when i checked for updates & to verify the parts were gonna work, they said they got stuck on a couple others ahead of me & wouldn't be able to start 'til this past saturday... which turned into last tues. i ain't had time to check back for the last couple days.
good news is that they ain't called telling me they're stuck on mine & need x, y, or z (*knock on wood*).

also just realized i'm an idiot & didn't cross-check the flywheel part number... yep, the nv3500 & nv4500 flywheels are supposedly interchangeable (aside from the weird, impossible-to-find 99-00 versions from 4.8/6.0s with the different crank length.. which should also swap with each other - just not onto a 5.3).
oh well... mine was pulled from a wreck in '09, has 100k more miles since then, and was lathed with the last clutch 3yrs ago, so maybe it ain't such a waste of $$ to put a new one on.

No news is certainly better than bad news! Certainly won't hurt to throw a new flywheel in. I'm excited to hear when it done. I just had my nv3500 out of the rcsb because I had such trouble getting the motor and trans married. Ended up getting it within about 2in and using longer bell housing bolts to pull it in the rest of the way. I guess I never realized how heavy the 4500 is until now. It's not the sort of trans you just lay on your back and muscle in.
