They're just referring to "stock style" as in not one of those cheesedick aftermarket high amp alternators lol. I'd go to your local parts store and pick one up, they usually come with a several year or lifetime warranty... if you're gonna go through advance auto(owns carquest) i think u can use that 40 dollar off thing if you order online the code is TRT41

Also make sure you get the correct one for your year model. I had one for a 2005 and it worked differently. On 05+ the computer controls the voltage lesser years the pcm does not control voltage.

I bought a 105 amp O'Reilly alt for 150ish and paid the 20 for the life time warranty, so when this one fails I can just get another one for free. So far it has held up for 2 years with the efans and 1000watt jl system. It will drop to 13 amps with headlights, efans, and jigga boom going haha

I was flipping back in the thread to find some pictures of your turbo to coolant tank clearance and found this glimpse of your air filter elbow. I got my S480 and am now working on figuring out what to do with my coolant tank since it's going to hit. I see the discharge of your turbo is facing down, but mine is to the left which causes all kinds of problems.
Is this the 5.5" to 4" elbow from http://store.airflo.com/reinel90de5t1.html?

That isn't the elbow I have. Pretty sure mine doesn't reduce down in size. The way my turbo is clocked, I don't have any clearance issues with the coolant overflow. The compressor housing touches the rubber hose on the top and the bottom of the overflow as you can see in the pic but doesn't interfere with them. Your compressor housing hits the overflow?

Yeah, mine interferes with it clocked at 9 o'clock. It hits the bottom hose hard and my discharge will go straight into the mounting leg of the tank. So I went out after posting that question and yanked my coolant tank and I think I'm going to try to rotate it 90*.
On the filter elbow, I have a 4" filter that I want to reuse. Otherwise I have to buy a filter and elbow which will be more expensive, and I want to keep it just the way I had it with the old turbo. What I was hoping would just be a downpipe mod. is turning into a lot more. Ugh.
