That would be too much fun. How often is your track open to the public?

If it's open period it's open to the public. I will be at a test and tune on the 9th getting some baseline times with the new rig.

Got home last night and got to work on the engine today. Pretty much buttoned it up except for the intake. I'll stick that on once it's in the truck. Tomorrow I should have it sitting in the truck and hopefully be driving it this weekend. I need to give Rick a call soon for the turbo goodies.

Keep up the good work! Cannot wait to see you buzzing around town lol BTW did you re-gap the rings for turbo? Might last a little longer if detonation is the goal

I didn't touch the shortblock at all. That is what is fun about it. If I open the short block then I say, well I might as well put rod bolts in it, and I might as well put main studs in it, then i have to get it line honed, ect. The list would go on forever. That is the goal for my 408. I'll build it while i try to blow this little 293 up.

BTW I've had the worst ******* day ever today. First a rough day at work then the engine hoist fails on me while I was lowering the engine into the truck. I took the hoist apart and drained/refilled the jack up with fluid and it still wont stay up. It just slowley falls when I try to jack it up. So I'm annoyed as hell. The engine is sitting on who knows what in the truck. Hopefully not on any part of the harness so I don't have to rewire things. I'll have to push the truck out of the bay tomorrow and use the forklift.

I got a hoist you can borrow so lemme know if you need it!

Understandable about taking it all apart. I was consumed with all of those things as well and just said the hell with it, and only went so far! An engine can go from a junker to a an endless money pit overnight!
