made some progress today. main pipes are done ...

manifolds were a lil tricky but thank goodness my welder knows what hes doing...
first we had to bake them to about 400-500 degrees ...

pull them out and rush them to a sand box and bury them so they stayed nice and hot while we tigged them with some special rod ...

Looks cool but whats your plan for the downpipe? How about the cold side to the intake routing? Also thats a long way away from where its bolted to...do you plan on making a brace or anything? I imagine you will end up some cracks or leaks after a while with a big turbo hanging that far way.

i bought a bunch of 5" stainless that should be here next week , and there is plenty of room between the turbo and ac drier to clear the tubing . im going to take it all the way down and have it turn out right under the passenger door pass the wheel well, straight pipe for now till i hear it im sure lol, hopefull the turbo muffles it a decent amount. intake side , im hoping to fit a 90* elbo in there if not i got about 8" to the radiator support and i foiund a 7" long filter that will fit for DDin' it, for racing filters come off.
although it feels really sturdy and if it was a strictly track truck i probably wouldn't worry about it but i agree with you . this turbo is 50 pounds and i know with it being a street truck something would eventually crack so yes i plan on bracing it , i have a friend getting me some 5/16 or 3/8 inch stainless plate that im going to brace from at least 3 or the 4 head bolt holes off the front of the head and it will go up to the t6 flange and tie into the bolts there.
i got a couple questions for you guys ... the v-band clamps are flat against flat will they not leak or is there something i should put between them? i know my aluminum intake ones came with a rubber gasket that went in between but these didnt come with any kind of seal or sealant .

If the V-bands are done correctly then they will not leak even metal to metal.

It looks like a tight fit from this angle for any dp much less a 5" one....I have a 5" one and it took a magician to fit it, and I dont have AC parts in my way, so I hope you have some skills!

The Vbands my welder used are from here Vibrant Performance ::. they have a little flange area on them so they fit inside one another and not leak. Without that, I bet you will have leak issues, especially holding all that weight.
