once you have the bellhousing bolted down to the block and
as long as the bolt aren't too long, then i don't see a problem.

either the converter is not fully seated or the billet flexplate is dead-nuts accurate, I'm not sure which it is yet.........I did feel confident it was seated though

When I did mine(although it's a 60-E), I pushed the converter all the way in on the trans till it made a solid (clunk). When I put the trans in, the mounting points were about 3/16" apart. I just gently pried the converter out till the gap closed, and it went together fine. So far, so good, no noises, rattles, sparks........yet!

If it spins freely with the bellhousing bolted up you should be good to go. Good work so far Grip.

good deal Richard, some of my thoughts are:

does the converter need to be fully seated other than to allow enough clearance to bolt her up, because ultimately it would be brought back off the fully seated position when torqued down. thoughts?

It should be brought off it's fully seated position when you mate the converter, and flexplate, that way you don't put undue pressure on the pump.

I still think your fine ... especially since I am very confident you have the converter correctly seated in the tranny. You are a pioneer here... no one has your setup but once you are done I am sure others will follow I would give a shout to the flywheel and torque converter manu tomorrow morning. As long as nothing was forced... I still think you are golden! Carry on

Bill
