nothing forced, made that mistake many moons ago with a powerglide, ended up having to weld a bellhousing ear back on

I agree, as long as nothing is forced together, it should be good. The old "we'll just pull it in with the bolts" doesn't work on these modern deals.

I can feel it engaging the tranny btw, maybe I should have said that from jump, turns with slightly more resistance but still by hand

I don't know how much TC's "balloon" but that would worry me a bit without any clearance.

took it back apart.........definitely felt seated, however TC surface to bell housing surface measured 3/4", everything looks good to go to me

stock flywheel sits 14mm off the crank, the Meziere Billet steel sits 16mm off the crank, that might be my difference

Houston, we have liftoff! Converter was not fully seated , third time was a charm

There is now 1 3/32" difference between the bellhousing mounting surface and the TC mounting surface

thanks for everyone's help

Very cool... I'm off Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, next week... just give me a shout if you need a extra set of knuckles ... it would be an honor to make the drive.
