Stripping anodize can be easily done with oven cleaner (sodium hydroxide), make sure you wear gloves and have cold water for rinsing. Of course, when you strip you will lose material. If the bore is coated i would recommend it be masked off from stripping or you might find it a bit loose.

have you considered leaving the hard coat on the ribbed areas and polishing the outer areas?

I've thought about that avenue as well. The center piece with the press fit bore is seperate. It would be nice if all my pulleys matched and were the same color/finish, hmm

I've been subscribing to this thread for quite awhile now and I say wow, good work, and thanks for all the useful info and pics. However, damn this thing needs an index.

I'm sure it would be a great deal of trouble and I would understand if you didn't want to spend the time but...

What about starting individual threads for each topic. Example, 8-rib conversion thread, Trans install thread, motor thread...............

thanks bro, stripped all the hard coat off the blower snout support today, everything else is stripped ready for polish! woot woot!

it was interesting to see how the hard coat came off btw, not exactly a one shot deal

Good deal. Yeah, the hard coat is a bit more dense and thick than regular anodize. Did you use the "easy-off" method
