Project "Blown HD" my 6/8 drop/shortblock/heads/cam/blower/tranny install
#2894
Update:
Starting the project today I've got everything I need to complete the install minus a TBSS or SSR Evap/Purg Valve and a bracket that's being made.
Currently fabbing mounts for the CTS-V heat exchanger, has taken me a while to figure out a way to mount it I'll be happy with.
Thanks BC for all the assists!

I don't have the converter yet, but I was reading PI's installation manual in PDF format and it says that the converter comes with a spring that you install into a valve in the pump. I searched and there was also a couple threads about it here by Bill Reid and KySilverado.
Here's a picture of it courtesy of Bill Reid. It's the red spring and apparently you have to grind down that notch to get the spring to fit over it.
Here's a quote from Vince @ FLT. If I'm reading this correctly Parish ran without the spring mod just fine. If everything works fine without the mod, I'd rather not tear into anything.
Also, I see you have the 2800 stall speed. How do you like it? I've read the 3000 is a lot like stock just driving around normally but is really nice when you get on it.
Thanks
Michael
(just picked this up last night - happy as a tit)

I did not do that step when I put in the shift kit with the stock converter. California Performance Transmission built my current tranny and prior to the build I told them what converter I was running. That's all I can say about it, sorry not much help. Congrats on your new parts!
I haven't had much time to play with the new converter, but so far it seems to drive just fine.
