Richard and I came up with a sweet setup for quick disconnects that looks sweet and is a hell of alot better then factory stuff, it will cost oyu about 150 to do it though
I have no idea what the factory line stuff is, Ill take a look at it when I go out to the garage.

Basically use two unions with -6 on the manifold side with some -6 ss line to some russel quick disconnects(very nice and require no tools to seperate) then connect them to your fuel rail.
Edit: you are returnless right? Then it would be half the cost and very easy. Just cut the black crap off, put a -6 union there with with hose to your fuel rail with one side of the quick disconnect attached directly to the fuel rail and the other side to the ss line. Cost about 80-100 in material and look much nicer and easier not to mention Im sure that piece you are going to have to buy aint cheap.
If you are interested in going that route I can dig out my russels catalog and get you the PNs that you need.

I mis-tryped you would use a tube sleeve and nut
660650 For 3/8 -6 sleeve
660570 For 3/8 -6 tube nut flair the end off you factory hard line and attach the nut to a flare union 660350 which is -6
then use a 610020 straight -6 hose end then run however long a length you need of -6 ss line to a 90* quick disconnect socket hose end -6 221806 then attach a male pipe plug quick disconnect to your fuel rail. I dont have a PN for that one since I dont know the pipe thread size for your rails, most likely 3/8 which is 232404.
I know its kinda hard to follor but basically oyu are flaring the end of your stock hard line using a nut that adapts your hard line to a -6 AN fitting then that fitting goes to a hose end for your -6 ss line the you put the cool quick disconnect fitting on the manifold end of your ss line then putting the male end of the quick disconnect directly attached to your fuel rail. Make sense? Sounds like a PITA but will make for a very clean setup and you never have to worry about that damn stock line and its POS disconnect tool.

didn't do much today, relaxed mostly, however I did get a few things done, getting ready to try out this power steering pulley remover tool from OTC, hopefully no problems to speak of. On another note, I don't remember R12 smelling anywhere near as bad as this R134 ****. LOL, when I worked at the Texaco as a mechanics helper we used to cool our soda cans with it

anyway, that power steering tool made removing the pulley ridiculously easy, highly recommend this bad boy!

Great pics and write up. When you removed your A/C compressor did you take any special steps to cap the lines? I ask because I have this A/C compressor removal phobia that my dad gave me when he told me that the reciever/dryer would saturate with moisture when exposed to the atmosphere. I need to remove mine soon too, but I am scared! lol
