I need to remove mine soon too, but I am scared! lol
everything is capped off, there should be enough lube still in the system it's green and stinks like ****

btw, all I removed was the condenser, easy stuff, just unscrew the schrader valve, don't let your fingers get frost bite.

couple of questions came up.....

1. do you guys re-use these clips, or get new ones as per the manual?

2. I don't see any reason to remove the power steering pump any further, do any of you see a reason why I'd need to move it beyond where it's at now?

1 of the 2 reasons I discharged my A/C system was to correct a problem GM does not warranty. Does anyone else get a hissing noise that sounds like it's coming from under the dash? Dollars to donuts it's the A/C system. The part below takes care of that issue, but alas, GM does not warranty the process to my knowledge:

I have reused the clips atleast 4 times with no issues.

Remove the ps pump it wil make life easier when cleaning the deck of the block and getting to that bolt in the bottom corner. Its just a preference thing if you can get away with it then keep it on there. Mine is laying on the frame rail right now.

I know you have your idea of what is right, Im just too lazy to do all that extra work

What part is this? I've never heard of the hissing a/c system. What years is this on?

Same here, I leave the P.S. pump attached to the acc. bracket and just take the whole thing loose and lay it to the side.

not sure what years it covers, it's not exactly a hissing sound, but it is, LOL, kinda sounds like a labored vacuum leak. Anyway, a good bro of mine told me about the fix when I brought the issue up some time ago. I'll see if I can find the thread.

EDIT: here it is.....
