The first time they showed up in a motor was in the LQ9, then carried over into the LS2/LQ4 motors so the LS2s and LQ4s use LQ9 rods

LS2/LQ9 rods where originally different than LQ4 rods, so no, I guess you could say the LQ4 uses LQ9 rods if you wanted to. Looks like they are all the same in 05 and up

Grip a tid bit of advice, use blue loc-tite on EVERYTHING in the engine. I tq'ed everything to spec on my engine and some of the bolts were looser then what they should when I disassembled it. Also, when putting the lifters in put them in the lifter tray then in the lifter bore, for some reason the people on tech think you should put them in the lifter bore then put the tray on. The lifter tray retainer bolts are 108 in-lbs. Also pour oil in both holes that go to the oil filter before putting the pan back on so it will help prime the motor even further. Make sure to use a rod bolt stretch gauge instead of a tq rating it is far more accurate.

Im sure you know most of this just wanted to share a bit fo my the knowledge I have attained in my builds and hopefully make things go a bit smoother for you.

Thanks bro, I'll keep those tips in mind. I'll have a couple of pros helping me out with the long block assembly so I'm sure everything will go smoothly
