Just make sure the threads go all the way to the bottom of the hole

Just because the hole is deep enough, doesn't mean that the threads were cut all the way to the bottom with a bottoming tap.

I think I see the reason for confusion after re-re-reading the tread, your talking about how much thread will be left on the bolt and I'm talking about how deep the hole in the snout of the crank is. I think where on the same page now

the threads on my crank are the smallest ID portion of the crank snout hole, behind the threads is a concave area, and in front of them is an ID roughly the same measurement as the valley of a crank thread. What I am referring to is how much room I will have from the time I start to torque the crank bolt(starting from a snug fit) to where the bolt physically "bottoms out". That distance, for me presently, is 2.642mm. My question is, does that sound like enough distance? I suspect it is.

Humm.... might be a little tight, probable be ok, but could always grind a little off the end if the bolt just to make sure.

I am no where near experienced with it but to ease your mind, I know that bolt is torque-to-yield but I don't think it would stretch more than 2.5mm
