Had a cold front come through here that canceled all the track stuff going on, that sucked... But it cleared out by nightfall and left a ton of cold air behind. Probably made more power with it tonight than I ever have, but I've found my limitation. Converter is blowing through again This is a de-stalled circle-d 1A, which is supposed to have a stall rating of 2000rpms (literally). Shifting at 6200, my shift extension is only 650rpms. And this is a 4.8! It's going to be even worse with a 6.0. This is my 3rd circle-d, disappointed again. Soon as I feel like spending another $1000 on a converter, it will get another Yank.

650 is a good extention buy yea when you add tq it will get less. Try shifting at 6500 and see what happens. You want about 500-600 under max power. On 9.7 pass i shifted at 6k and drop to 54-5500. 18-20 psi on 6.0l. On 14psi It drops to 5-5200.

Something doesn't seem right there. I have a 3b and unless you're making ALOT more power than I think you are something is going on. No reason you should have the same rpm drop as I do when I have a much looser stall and I'd say I'm at 800-850 at the wheels and weigh 4850lbs. You sure it's the converter and not the trans? Checked the input and output speed sensors?
