RCSB build

Its not the trans, I have watched the speed sensors on my laptop. Not to mention between the 2nd and 3rd Circle D converters I had the trans rebuilt and it still does it. It is the 10" converter, or 258mm. It was Chris' recommendation. I asked about swapping to a larger diameter converter and he said it would be full price again, so I just had him tighten this one up for free. It really makes the trans feel like more of a slushbox though... You can barely feel the shift under WOT cause the converter soaks it all up. There's only a momentary drop in RPM as it shifts and they it goes right back up and waits for the MPH to come command shift.

Seems like more and more people are having problems with circle d converters
Maybe post up a thread about it in the drivetrain section, might give him enough bad press that he will help you out on the price. Having to go through so many converters Id think he would be more apt to help you a bit more.
Turbomic had some bad expereiences too with them. Now that Yank is making a multidisk Id say thats the way to go.

From what I've been hearing, he's dealing with quite a bit of bad press already. When I do swap it out, I will sell it to someone who is looking for a big cube NA build, or maybe a conservative centri blower setup. Thats honestly what this converter would be best for.
Converter is OK with light throttle driving... Even being a 2000rpm stall rating I can definitely still feel it. Probably still a little bit looser than my old Yank SC3000.

When I asked him about possibly swapping in my 10" for one of his larger diameter models, he sounded very unwilling to compromise even if I paid the difference for a larger, more expensive converter. He did recommend the 2B converter initially, but that thing was just pathetic... Even after like 3 trans swaps last summer I wasted no time ripping the 2B out and getting a different one. I'll see how this one does at the track...

Yeah, he has definately changed since he first got on the boards. He was really nice and helpful, willing to work with customers but it seems lately he has made a complete 180. Hate to see you have problems that arent your fault after all the hard work youve put into it.
Your dealings with them along with a few others here lately cements my decision to get one of the new multidisk yanks when I get to that point even though Circle D is only a 100 miles away in my home town.
Any news on a new motor?

How did the yank feel?
