I still run the truck but I took the 383 out of it a few years ago. I like to experiment with different set ups. After the 383 sbc I built an LS 408 and now I'm building a turbo 4.8L This truck will go through plenty more transplants I'm sure

After a long tuning period I got a 14sec 1/4 down to 11.78 @118mph with a 75 wet shot.
This set up theoretically should make more, with more compression, more head flow and slightly more cam (rockers). But we'll see. I haven't run nitrous in a long time and traction has always been a problem. Also, there aren't any more drag strips in my area. They've all shut down.

I moved to Los Angeles a couple of years ago, recently I'm back in Prescott but bounce back to L.A. frequently for music or car work.

Rebuilt the demon, swapped over a 1.75" throttle plate from another carb. Cleaned, re-gasketed, set up for initial fire up before fine tuning.
I also opt'd to run an actual air cleaner instead of the velocity stack. I found this 10" housing in my storage. It clears the cut out in the firewall, so I ordered a 10" x 3.75" filter (1" taller then the filter below), I had trouble finding a X-Stream or similar flow thru top but in the catalogs I found a circular filter for a Suzuki that will fit nicely as a top. Also ordered a K&N velocity type air cleaner base so the airflow isn't fighting a hard 90° turn that can rob as much as 10hp.
My cowl hood was recently damaged, I have my eyes on a Cervini ram air hood. I'll need to save up a bit before making that order.
