Slow and getting slower
#1322
Working on a lot of upgrades lately. Getting the ball rolling on a 5" downpipe and slightly bigger turbo (82) with a bigger turbine. Scored some rancho 9000 shocks for the rear, upgrading the fuel pumps to dual walbro 400s, and added another meth nozzle. Speaking of which, this thing looks like something darth vader would go snorkling with
I actually need to play with the meth settings a bit more....may try a higher activation pressure and lower initial amount, but use a higher ramp rate. In any event, with the bigger pumps I estimate I have enough injector and pump for 1350rwhp without meth, so I wont need to use meth as a bandaid, just as cooling and knock suppressant.
I also put the old cam back in. Didnt see any improvements with the new one and driveability was worse. I think the lack of performance increase was due to the turbo turbine being too small.
I did some work on the damn plug wires to try to keep them from burning....I now have 3 really long ones, 3 normal ones, and 2 really short ones
Also, everyone should read this thread I wrote about pump flow and injector flow....if I had done this before the trip to the 1/4 I would have almost certainly got a 9 sec pass

Heres the thread about my 1/4 trip a couple weeks ago. Managed a best of 10.4@129 running out of fuel due to too high of a base pressure. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-1-4-a-510340/ I was also fitting burned plug wires the whole weekend and I think I replaced 5 or 6 of them before it was over, so I felt lucky to get 1 decent run...
