Uhh...I called him and said "Im pushing about 1200hp at the flywheel with a 4l80e in a 5000lb truck", and he said ok I think I have one that will work well for you

Mentioned it would probably stall around 3600, but I dont really care about that unless its super super loose.

Unfortunately....things arent so good.

Notice some low oil pressure so I cut the filter open...

Also tested the trans, and it has low pressure in every gear, so it needs to come out as well...

But I took it to the track today to get a final run in, and this is with only 17lbs with a 12lb launch on a bummed trans...be sure and listen to the speaker
Turbo work truck Holiday Raceway - YouTube
Still runs good on a bad day!

I am hopeful though, I knew it wasnt going to last forever at this power level. Although I am bit irritated at the engine issues (I think the crank is bent...), when I get it back to 100% its going to be a beast with this converter and turbo!

Damn, sorry to see that. Hopepfully it didnt put any filings in the turbo.

Do you have your mains pinned? That's one thing I didn't do that I wish I would have.

I have been watching this thread from the beginning and I feel your pain every time something has gone wrong. 100% my favorite truck of all time.

Truck sounded freaking great going down the track. The ladder is classic.

Why do you think the crank is bent? I would check it with a degree wheel and a dial indicator before you pull it out and once you get the heads off. I assume you would have already expected to do that though.

This is the second engine I have had this crank in that showed the exact same symptoms...low oil pressure but still runs perfect. Completely new block. I plan to check it with it still in there. Hoping to have it out this week. Just dropped off the trans at blakes.
