Nice converter....I had the same one, except 3600. I miss it a lil' bit, the factory stall is a slug. I don't miss the mpg's though!

Good call, ill put that on the to do list.

Finished most of the engine assembly today; lifters, heads, rockers, and rear cover. Just waiting on a blue spring for the oil pump so I can put the oil stuff together. I think I am going to tap front timing cover for the oil drain instead of the oil pan. I didnt like tapping the pan near the starter and if I mess up front covers are a lot cheaper than oil pans.



Notice how on the LS1 rear cover the bolt areas are recessed slightly.



3/8th pushrods look and feel huge next to the stock ones

Out of curiosity, what's the weight difference between those 3/8ths rods and the stock ones? I had magnums in my 5.3, but I have isky 5/16ths in my 365. Just wondering if there is some valvetrain weight to be saved there?

From everything I've read and heard experts say, go with the biggest ones possible because the weight on that side of the rocker is negligible compared to the strength increase. For higher reving engines be more concerned with the valve and retainer weight.

There are a couple HP to be gained by going to a stout pushrod due to less pushrod deflection but to really take advantage of it you need a stout set of rockers. A set of yella terra ultra lights and pushrods is good for about 10rwhp.

Weeeeeell im still waiting on a blue spring for my oil pump so I dont have insane oil pressure like last time. Still need that so I can finish the oil system on the engine. I spent the last couple days cleaning and painting all of the interior plastic pieces and worked a little bit on putting the interior back together. Before that I took out my PI torque converter from my silver truck and replaced it with a stock 80e one. Also switched out the 34" rad for the stock 28" one in my silver truck, and swapped the 05+ fans for the ls1 fans. The big fans and big rad are going in my white truck. Also replaced the 0 guage power wire on my silver truck for some more appropriate 4ga. I plan to reuse the 0ga for the big 3 on my white one.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have most of the interior finished which involves new carpet, the all black plastic pieces, getting my racing seats to work, dash back together, blah blah blah. After that I am taking the 10b out of the white truck, regear it, and put it in my silver truck so I can use the 14b on my white one.

Goal is to be driving by next weekend...
