When my trims on the driver side went to +50 and wideband was reading rich while just cruising....I commanded open loop and made it home, but it smelled like raw fuel, not just rich exhaust. As soon as I pulled up I left it running and popped the hood and fuel is literally gushing out from between number 5 injector and the rail. In the few seconds I was in my carport there was a puddle of gas about the area of the truck on the ground. I got my fire extinguisher ready and got a huge fan to vaporize it quicker and get it out of there.

Found the problem

Looks like the bolts holding the rail down loosened up slightly, and/or the rail spacer was too big. I remeasured what I needed and it appears to be 1/16" too tall. I tested this setup to 100psi before ever starting the engine and everything was fine, it took roughly 100 miles to fail.

How did you fix it? I plan on ordering shorter spacers, but Im not sure what I else I could do besides that.

My injectors are the correct length, the problem i had is over a period of time the back allen head bolt for the fuel rail bracket was backing out..... I was also having fueling issues with my wb going rich alot before the bolt backed out enough to start blasting fuel everywhere... so i cinched it back down and got back to tuning! I run the eldelbrock rails along with the vic jr and would suggest to anyone to use a little of loctite on these bolts that hold down the fuel rails.

Im using billet nasty performance rails

My issue is to get these rails to work with this intake I had to use injector spacers and rail spacers to get the correct length. It was recommended to use plastic spacers instead of metal so there wouldnt be corrosion. It looks like the plastic softened and the bolts backed out. I thought I put loctite on them, but I guess not.

Im taking this oppurtunity to tap the intake for a 3bar sensor anyway.

Always something. I just got done fixing a line that popped off in my fuel bucket. Someone mentioned that hose clamps cut through the rubber lines after a while if they're too tight, so I put them on loose...little too loose lol. This is after fixing a coolant leak cause the crossover was hitting the power steering bracket. ******* always something.
