Im just gonna replace everything with moog and if/when something breaks ill go from there. No way am I spending $400 for a set of tie rods without being absolutely sure there is no other way and they are completely needed.

Just throw a set of tie rod sleeves on and call it good.

Thats pretty cool, Ill need to get some. $35 is a lot better than $400

Went to the track again....good and bad. Good is I was told I had to have a helmet, bad is I didnt have one. Good again was blake found me one to borrow for the night. Bad was I only got 3 runs in because it was very crowded. Good is the truck had zero issues besides a weird electrical issue of the acc power staying on and it not wanting to hold idle after several restarts. Bad is I ran worse times due to only being able to make 4psi... Ill have some videos in a bit.

Well I take it back, I actually ran my best 60ft and et tonight.

Best run was:
60ft - 1.782
594ft - 7.378
1/8et - 7.893
1/8mph - 87.51

I seem to do the best with the radials right off the street at full pressure. Lowering it down doesnt seem to help me a lot, and I suck at burnouts apparently. On that run I left at 5psi and boost only went up to 6psi right after the shift and dropped to around 3.5psi at the top of 2nd. Im not sure whats going on, I turned up my boost controller so it should have been more...

Heres a video of my last run of the night, 2wd only, about 40% throttle out of the hole then 100% after the spin stops, left on about 4psi.

turbo silverado 5psi - YouTube

I have enough things to keep me busy for a while now...figure out why I cant make more boost now. I may end taking the controller off at the moment to see what my wastegate is doing. Got a new coolant res from Mitch. Get the front end rebuilt and aligned. Figure out whats rattling inside my truck driving me crazy and fix it. Make sure the 4wd works before I use it...its being finicky. Get a line lock for the rear so I can do a real burnout. Its hard to foot brake it with the dual piston suv calipers on the back.

You're scraping the bottom end of the map with that amount of boost, so its gonna drop off a lot. Once you turn up the boost it should level out a little bit. Still good times for low boost.

So thinking about this...my trap speed on those low boost runs was almost identical to the high boost runs, which tells me its making about the same power at both levels. One step further and this means the turbo is still moving the same amount of air, just more efficiently at the lower level. I believe the reason for this is my throttle cable issue; I fixed it so it now opens 100% instead of only 80%. Who knew 20% throttle could be the difference between 8 and 4psi.

I raised my boost controller setting from 10 to 25 from the previous times to run 3 and saw basically no difference in boost. Electronic boost controllers work off of the concept of duty cycle, basically the amount of time the solenoid is open, and going from 10 to 25% isnt really a whole lot. I really need to turn it up to like 80% to see a real difference.
Secondly, the way the controller is hooked up, 0 would be referenced boost, and 100 would be unreferenced boost based on the spring im using. In my case that would be between 6 and 12lbs, give or take. I believe you are correct, Jake, on the turbo being too low in the map.
