Progress! Finally got the injector situation delt with.







Heads up for anyone wanting to use the L92 intake, if the power level you want isnt supported by the factory rails, get another intake instead of aftermarket rails
The reason LS3 or any other aftermarket rail for that matter doesnt work is because on the L92, the rail mounts are exterior of the injectors whereas on the others they are interior.

John at FIC sent me some 1" spacers since 1/2" would be too short, but were 5/16" too long. $6 for a bag of 5/16x1/4x1/2 plastic spacers from mccmastercarr later and the injectors fit snuggly and the rail isnt going anywhere. I dont forsee any problems with this setup since there is no vertical movement possible in the injector, and the rails are solid to the mounts. John recommend turning up the fuel pressure before I run it just to make sure nothing warps or leaks at high pressure.In any case, these rails are sick and should be good up to 2000hp. Now to clean up the intake.

Also, not all L92 intakes are made the same:



Namely at some point the MAP retainer was changed from the push in clip to the clip and slide deal. Also the PCV port was changed from just the nipple to the whole assmebly that fits down in there.

I think all the 2011+ (maybe '10) trucks changed MAP sensors and design of the intake..

I have to ask though why are you still using a stock l92 manifold if your power level exceeds the amount the factory rails can flow?

I have a very mild motor and I can see the top of my factory plastic l92 manifold flex just from vacuum. Can't be good for the life span of it...

Couple reasons.... talking to several people that know more about these engines than I do, for the type of driveability I am shooting for, the truck intake should work the best for my goals. Also I want to keep a stock-ish appearence.

If the intake decides to blow itself apart I could always use the rails on something else

Lucky for you, if the intake blows apart, it would go rich instead of lean. lol

Yea, and I have a spare intake (obviously)

Hopefully with bigger injectors and meth and a good wideband it will last more than a week. I plan on running 6lbs for a while, just so I can drive it.

Yea, I had my PB 80e fixed under warranty and its been sitting in my carport for a few months now.

Got some presents today,









Also got the cam with the block. LME forgot the headstuds but they are shipping them to me tomorrow. Their packing of engine blocks always impresses me; it took me 15 minutes to get the block out of the crate they made.

Now to just throw all this stuff in the truck
