I see you also had tweets and mids so to win your state and still play music is one hell of an accomplishment. Again I mostly payed attention to sub only cars.
If this was metered on the dash with a term lab below the 50 hz range, I applaud your cousin. That would be a hell of an accomplishment in todays standards. I also elaborated some on my previous post since I couldn't edit in mobile.

I also forgot to mention that I installed a 3" electric cut out right after the down pipe, the turbo seems to boost a lot faster versus a smooth boost build up with it closed up.

With subwoofers only, might as well put them in an enclosed uhaul trailer and save your vehicle the weight... Can't listen to anything anyway, unless all your music is played below 60hz...lol

Ill be the newb, but I honestly didn't know they even put a 4.8 in the tahoes, I don't think I have ever seen or heard of one. I always saw the 5.3's in them

I don't think they should have ever put a 4.8 in such a heavy truck, but I'm working on getting it where it needs to be.

Thanks for the compliments!

I had a 07 Avalanche with the 5.3 which I think weighs around the same as a Tahoe I believe. I did exhaust and tune and other random bolt on's and it still was never close to what I wanted. Maybe I should have saved more and done the trubo

Have you had it on a scale since pulling out all the stereo?

Yes on the dash, not sure what hz. I will see if he has some pics. I used to but lost the 3.5" floppy drive. It was 12th in the world and 8th in the sates when he first did it.

I meant to specify *Sealed on the dash* (all windows up / doors closed). This is referred to as a tl legal score, and is currently the primary method of metering.... I wouldn't say it's the most common way to be judged, but is the most difficult as big setups like to breathe.

I have not gotten it on the scales yet, I still have some remnants of the box waiting to be sledged / cut out. I'd also like to get the 80 installed first to get an accurate reading. And yes, you should have went turbo..... it is the bomb.

:
Yes it was sealed and on the dash. Isn't it like 4/1/3 or something inches from the passanger pillar, windshield, and dash?

1 3/4 lexan windows, double 3/4 MDF plus heavy fiberglass, pressure latches on the doors(6 or 7 each I think), and obviously a remote head unit. I forget how many batteries but a quick burp dropped them about 2 volts if I remember correctly. I don't remember what amps.

Got some more parts for the 80 today.

For anyone swapping to an 80 this is all you need for the wiring / tranny cooler.

I am using a tru cool 40k, but I think most tru cool transmission coolers use the same thread size.

These are the fittings you'll need for the cooler (in plastic boxes);

These are the fittings you'll obviously need for the hose(4);

These are the -6 fittings you'll need for the newer style 80;

In the first picture on the right you see the wiring stuff you need to swap the wiring for $23.00 instead of $150 or more for a harness.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with my drive shaft. After getting close to a 700 dollar quote from driveline specialist I may just take my stock shaft and get it shortened a couple of inches. Input is appreciate on driveshaft ideas.
