Thumbs up Some fabbing of my own, on the harley :D

So not long back, bought a harley from a local.. Bike was really nice, but it was known in town yada yada. I am just strange on chit like this. So I decided I wanted to change it up a bit.. So opt to cut the pipes, instead of buying ones like I liked for 250+.. So in turn had to make a few brackets, decisions.. Next is I do not like the rear fender the way it is, so it is getting bobbed.. With some help from my dad, we came up with a neat looking cover so that I do not have to take this fender some where to have the paint matched( bike was custom painted in Florida) Guy must have had a ton in it, paint mached inner fins on the jugs, diamond cut jugs.. I fig I would put some of mine ad dads touches to it, so that it is not marked as ''that guys old bike" So none the less, F it lets do this.. Some pics of the bracket that was made to hold the new cut pipes, some of the beg of the project.. Once all this is done, the gay hyper charger will be replaced with a velocity stack, possible going to go back to the spoked wheels..

So I though I had more pics of fabbing the brackets up, but will have to snag pic of them.. Every thing is being done in SS.. Should look nice once the fender cover is polished up..
But here is the bottom of one, they turned out really nice..

Before the pipes were hacked off..

First cut. I liked the angle look to it, but after alot of thinking, opted for strait cut

Getting the damn things perfect was a bit more of a task then i first thought, but it turned out extremely well, saved me well over 250 buks...

Next is the making of the fender cover once it has been cut( and for you die hards bobbed) Started with this.. Dad has been putting most time in this. I got the basic structure, shapes, he will do the fine tuning..

Next is placing it on the fender and finding tha happy spot.. So here we have some tape on the fender, marking level, center line

Next is the 2 welded together, then ground smooth..

Still have a bit more work left in this pieces, need to make the radius so it is level. That will be the addition of 2 more pieces.. Might cut the center or a section of it out to let the paint and some of the graphics be seen..Will keep it updated to the final.. Thanks for checking it out..
