T-Revs comeback 05 tahoe 2wd street truck
#112
Thanks dan. Hey I’m shopping for a cam right now, I’ve narrowed it down to 3 cams I beleive, the Texas speed stage 2 low lift cam, the btr stage 2 truck cam and the Texas speed stage 2 high lift truck cam. As far as I’ve heard everyone says the high lift will make more power pretty much everywhere, it’s about $230-250 more expensive to do but comes with better valve springs also, not sure what the difference would be in total power output, fuel economy, drive ability and valve spring longevity, those are essentially thing things stopping me from pulling the trigger on it. As far as the two low lift cams the btr has a 111 lsa and the tsp has a 112, lift is a few thou bigger on the btr, duration is the same on all the cams. 212/218. I just want this thing to stay totally driveable, don’t want to worry about having to swap out valve springs every 30k or something like that. Just looking for people’s first hand feedback.

I bet that 6.0l feels strong everywhere with that small of a cam in it. I’ve tuned quite a few trucks here in Oregon, from what I’ve noticed just by the seat of the pants is that the trucks with cams on the smaller side usually feel super good doing pulls where as allot of the guys with the stage 3 and 4 cams have more up top but you definitely feel a lack of power down low in comparison. Also the smaller cams are way easier to get the idle under control and have better manners. I think I’m just gonna go with the tsp stage 2 low lift because it will save some money and I’m gonna be going with a larger cam in my c6 anyways so the truck is going to stay as daily driver friendly as possible.

I'd go with the low lift like Arthur has, if you end up with the high lift just do yourself a favor and get dual springs. I ran it with singles for 30k and had a failure, not saying everyone will have the same experience but why risk it.
