T-Revs comeback 05 tahoe 2wd street truck

They are 275/55/20 Goodyear eagle ls-2’s. Also just did the 2020 brakes on the hoe today. For the spacers I used two washers per bolt, measured the gap at just over .20” and they fit perfect to align the caliper. Here’s a blurry pic of the part number for the washers I used from knects.

It was super easy, I really hate doing brakes but it was literally almost like direct replacement. Hardest part was getting the upper caliper bolts loose but I found a welded up universal joint that allowed me to use a breaker bar on the 18mm caliper bolts.

dang... 3 sets of wheels & tires on that hoe over the course of a week?
and good deal on the brakes. 'twas the same story on my car when i swapped to C6 Z51 stuff - i only needed brackets & rotors (since i already had 18s up front). i did opt for braided lines & speed bleeder valves while i was in there, too.

My impression of the brakes is they definitely feel better. Haven’t done really any hard stops with it but they feel like they bite harder and can definitely slow it better. It also feels like if you really wanna stomp on the brakes it takes some more effort but the stopping capability is improved (more effort is probably from more surface area of the 4 pistons over 2 piston) a larger master cylinder would be nice but I’m not sure if there’s an “easy” upgrade for my hoe. I know if I put good pads in there they would really show a larger difference but my Tahoe isn’t really the performance rig just a comfortable daily/work truck/ tow vehicle. I drove it up to umatilla and back yesterday to tune some cars, about 460 miles round trip. Did it on one tank and had about a 1/4 tank when I got home. Fuel economy readout shows 22.2 average for the whole trip. Whole way back I had cruise control on at about 70mph. On the way up I was averaging 24.5mpg but I didn’t care as much as I just wanted to be home after I was done tuning. As far as the wheel swap, I’m super happy I traded my 22 inch wheels for these declads. They are exactly the look I wanted to go for and ride 10x nicer with the larger sidewalls.
