Looks pretty standard for a used motor.

What would you like to know?

The 799 heads i bought had 3 broken exhaust manifold bolts left in the head. I tried to remove one today and broke an easy out off inside the bolt..... That thing is in there pretty tight. Im going to try the other 2 bolts but if they turn out like the first one did im just going to ship them to Phil like they are and pay whatever extra for him to remove them.... Its always something

Also still waiting to hear back from the machine shop about my block and what the deck height/piston height is.

Are they sticking out some atleast????

I like to heat them up with map gas for a minute or so then use a stud remover socket of them.

Awesome little things.

Do yourself a favor and let the machinist take them out properly.

Talked with Phil and he will remove all 3 for about $100 (i figure thats mostly labor). I am also shipping them out next monday regardless if i have my deck height measurements from the machine shop or not. Im just ready to get them over there so he can atleast get the port work or valve work started and im getting behind behind all the fall/winter work he recieves.

BTW, also got the front engine cover cleaned up. There was some major corrosion on it that soaking in kerosene for a week and scrubbing with a stiff nylon brush wouldnt even touch. So after about 20 mins in a sand blaster she looks great now.

Just a little update: got the short block bac today and everything looks great! I havent fully uncovered it yet but the main thing i am waiting on is the cam so i can put the lifters in and the timing set. The heads have been gone a week so i hope yo hear something soon on them. I might be installing the rear cover soon so i can close up that side of the engine. I will probably do the oil pan before the rear cover though.
