I know, I'm not mad about it man. I just get pissed off thinking about it and sometimes over react...it's a sore subject for me. This is something that you can probably do in 3 or 4 hours, but me it will take at least two days - I'm so busy right now with my business I can't see straight and we're booked up through October, so taking off work to fix his mistake just plain bothers me lol.
I do agree, Chris is a nice guy too and he's giving me a full refund. It's just my luck that this happened to me and probably doesn't happen very often with him.
Going to Vegas in 8 days to play in the WSOP...I SO NEED A VACA!

Props to Chris for giving you a refund. I wouldn't want to continue business with you either.

And you're a F***ing retard for comparing apples to oranges @sshole, not to mention a P***Y for coming onto my thread, insulting me and hiding behind your computer screen while calling me names. I promise you'd think twice about calling me names in person since you would get knocked the F*** out
Most of the time converter stall is determined by a data base of known combinations of mods J**k*ff to a particular vehicle. My make/model of truck has been built over and over and over again with the exact same or very similar mods and nailing a stall (or at least coming within a few hundred RPMS) shouldn't be that hard for a competent builder under these circumstances. For Circle D to miss by 1000 - 1300 + RPMS wouldn't be acceptable to anyone
Oh yeah, it was my choice not to do business any longer with Chris

While I agree that a converter often needs a restall I think this one was not really built as requested. I can understand the frustration here.
I'd really like to hear Chris' take on this and see how this specific converter was built(using his 1B, 2B, 3B scale) and how it could be made tighter if at all.
For what its worth my Yank acts EXACTLY the same at my power levels. I question whether it is too loose a lot of times too. I see about 2800 RPM slip and it flashes to the high 3k range from a dead stop. I worry that I have somewhat blown through some of my power range, which would be the same concern and reason for swapping to a PI here as well.

Thought I would jump in here to help out... We sold Randy our 258mm 2A, which is typically 3K range on similar setups. Like mentioned by others sometimes the torque curves are a little different and thus the stall can be off some. If every setup was exactly the same, then a canned tune would work best. Sometimes we have to go back into the converter to tighten or loosen it up based on how it works in the vehicle, just the nature of the business. Which is why we offer the free restall. We have a lot of data to reference when speccing a converter for different setups and sometimes go one step too much. We should have gone with a 258mm 1A or even step up to our 265mm. Sadly we have an angry customer and wish we had the opportunity to make it right.

This is the same scenario you have with the overall differences of totally factory vehicles even when they are run side by side.
Ex. 2006 TBSS and 2007 TBSS dyno'd the exact same time with similar mileage. Both of them being totally factory. the 2007 truck made 35hp and 32 Ft lbs more.
Even with apples to apples, they can taste different and they can be different colors.
The argument of these trucks being built similar over the years and having that data does not hold up, as every single vehicle can be miles different. Take this SSS for example. If it were in Denver Colorado it would act totally different than where it is now. Yes, even something as simple as location and play a huge factor in the way it runs.
Oh and by my calculations your stall is off by 700 rpms. This is a known fact based on your words above. You guessing at where your stall might land after everything you want to do is all BS IMO.

Thanks for weighing in Chris. It would be really nice to see how the 1A compares. Too bad Randy has decided to head in a different direction. I will say that I'm a little surprised you didn't go with the 1A to begin with considering all he had planned for his build.
You continue to run a great business and this just proves your customer service is truly top notch.

AFTER I had already ordered my CircleD converter, I had a conversation with Zippy where he told me he had tuned several SSS trucks with Chris's converters and he seemed to always over shoot the stall by a mile (interesting information since you told me the exact opposite BEFORE I ordered the converter and said something along the lines of Chris being the very best at nailing a stall). Zippy then told me that if it wasn't stalling right around 24 - 2500 right out of the box, that it would be way too high after the supercharger. Sure enough, it stalled at 3300. However, Chris and I both agreed to wait and have the supercharger installed before I made a final decision as to how I wanted to proceed, despite the fact that Zippy was telling me it would probably land somewhere around 37 - 3800...and what do ya know, he was right again since I'm right at 3700 now. NOW he's telling me after I install the Cam, heads and bump up the boost to 12 - 15 psi, I will most likely be over 4k. Since he is much more experienced in these areas and has been correct every single step of the way, I have no reason not to believe him. Bottom line is, the stall is way to high for what I ordered and is not acceptable for my application.
I will also say that Chris has been very concerned about this situation, he has followed up with me on several occasions just to ask how my truck was running, etc. over the past few months. Overall his customer service is excellent. We all make mistakes. Some learn from them and some don't.

Second, I also told you in the same sentence that the converters I have seen and people I have talked to, Chris nailed the stall and those people were happy. Now that being said, do you think that I know or have seen 100% of the converters that Chris has put out? I don't think so. Zippy has a lot more experience with tuning these trucks than I do... which I also told you. You also had every opportunity to discuss your plan with the man tuning your truck. I also told you to do so...well because he is the man tuning your truck.
Third, You have continued to post in detail your disappointment about things with your truck and the people that have had a hand in helping. Regardless if you write a simple positive sentence at the end of your rant. The negative damage is done to these companies and people that are working with you. How would you feel if your customers did this to you on the internet with your remodeling business?
I started off by offering some help, but quickly watched things snowball based on your inability to work within the set group of people that you "hired" to help you. Instead you involved 2 different internet communities in depth. I understand you are searching for answers, but give the people you are working with a fighting chance to complete your project before you start involving others outside of your support system.
All of this being said. Best of luck with your truck and I hope it reaches the goals that you set.

First off lets act like adults here. The "big boy" comment isn't needed or appreciated.

I am only posting honest content with my truck build and people involved in it. If you think that is wrong, disrespectful or whatever else, so be it. But this is who I am as a person. Are you suggesting that I should lie or not tell the "whole story"? I am not trying to hurt anyone's business, just speaking facts and my experiences with my first performance truck build.
