suposedly a direct swap. pull the factory axle and drop in the 8.8...and a fitting to convert the threads of the brake line to the 8.8 brake lines. it's around 4" wider so new wheels with the proper back spacing are needed. it will be a while before i install it. need the calvert monno leaf and traction bars along with drop blocks so i can nail the entire rear suspension all at once.

anyone ever pulled the cab on an s10? how touch is it? it would be nice to do the engine/headers/transmission and suspension work on a bare frame.

Come on Stew... disconnect the brake master cylinder, a vacume line on booster if equipped, the wiring harness, the steering shaft, the throttle and trans linkage, the e-brake cable. And its like 4 bolts...

only cab i've ever pulled was on my dads 32 coupe. i'm sure i could have figured it out by poking around in there. i'm thinking about selling the silverado so i can get more garage space and really get to cranking on the s10.

the nice thing about the s10 is that i can run some good ol cheap prostars. i can have front runners and rear wheels WITH tires on all 4 corners for less money than a set of rear bogarts. i dont see myself ever going the bogart route again.

if i sell both i will find me a 69 camaro to cruise. a nice 69 is getting pretty pricey though. I'll have one someday. or a 70 chevelle

a 69 is a dream car... They offer some much aftermarket support for those now.... all factory re-popped parts, custom frames, etc...
