nope! it can sit in my driveway for 29 days of the month. it's nice knowing i have a big truck when i need one now. i hate having to borrow trucks.
can that scenario feel like a small clunk in the rear end?
whenever you come to a stop and try to take off, the trans will "stick" in 2nd gear. So when you goto take off, it boggs for a sec, and then downshifts back to first
The cure, is to bore the valve bore out, and replace it with an over sized valve in the valve body. It's a reamer kit

I think that has more to do with the splines in the drive shaft being dry. Some of the HD's tend to do that, my Duramax does it as well.
Next time you pull the driveshaft for any reason make sure you lube the crap out of it, should fix the clunk when starting from a stop.

he was going to trade it in. it does have some minor issues, but worth every penny of 2,500. it needs a water pump (although i've been driving it for 2 days and havent seen the first drop yet). other than the engine oil, NOTHING has been flushed or replaced. it has 185,000 miles on the factory plugs and wires. no telling how the air filter looks. the radio wasnt working correctly (i already fixed), both door transmitters are broken, the tint is peeling on all windows (think the installer has a lifetime warranty though). a few dings and scratches but nothing major. the drivers door panel needs to be replaced. the tailgate handle needs to be replaced. there are a few other odds and ends. worst of all, it was low on windshield washer fluid! the engine runs quiet and smooth. it has 2 header bolts broken off on the drivers side head. the exhaust leak there is driving me nuts! the exhaust leak goes away once the engine heats up, but it's embarrising driving out of work in a parking garage that amplifies the leak x10.
a little TLC and this truck will be ready for another another 100K+ miles. you guys know how i am about maintenance and keeping my trucks clean. this one will be no different.

back to the s10
picked up the ford 8.8 rear from the machine shop on friday. had it cut down 3" on the drivers side, arp cap studs, new races, bearings and seals, welded tubes, redrilled to chevy lug pattern, new perches welded up at the correct pinion angle. got it all bolted up over the weekend and had time to run all of the brake lines. all the rear end needs now is a nice dif covor. it dropped the rear another half inch. time to measure for a new driveshaft. here is the final stance of the s10. looks pretty wickid IMO
