TXsilverado 2.0 Build Thread

thanks. a s10 is what i truely wanted the entire time i was building the silverado.
got some more done to it this weekend. driveshaft is in, new water pump and a few other odds and ends. it was nice to be able to back it into the driveway to work on it, then pull it back in when i'm done the neighbors love the open longtubes. it's been a long time since i've started it and the responsiveness of a carb surprised the hell out of me again. the carb is nowhere near tuned correctly as it sputters and ***** on slow throttle tip in, but as soon as that secondary opens up a little the RPM RIPS to redline. still have a lot to do, but backing it out and driving it in felt like an accomplishment. it's the first time i've seen this truck move under it's own power since it had a blown engine when i got it.

11 sec. Truck Mod
iTrader: (12)
back to the s10
picked up the ford 8.8 rear from the machine shop on friday. had it cut down 3" on the drivers side, arp cap studs, new races, bearings and seals, welded tubes, redrilled to chevy lug pattern, new perches welded up at the correct pinion angle. got it all bolted up over the weekend and had time to run all of the brake lines. all the rear end needs now is a nice dif covor. it dropped the rear another half inch. time to measure for a new driveshaft. here is the final stance of the s10. looks pretty wickid IMO

That's a great rear end also shouldn't give ya any issues.

I drove it around the block on Friday. I haven't hooked up the trans controller yet, so I only have reverse, and I think 2nd. the 60e feels mooshy without any computer controlling it.
only gave it about 1/2 throttle and wow! this truck is going to be a hand full to keep on the road.
