Just a small suggestion, get either an explorer 8.8 or a ford 9 inch and custom axles very first thing.

TXsilverado 03-05-2014 10:42 AM

the blown06 drivetrain needs more than a 8.8 lol

BigEd_72455 03-05-2014 10:46 AM

How much horsepower do you think an 8.8 can handle? I have seen one with 725 motor hp, transbrake launch and 250 nitrous run mid 5's in the 1/8th.. and keep on keeping on. That makes it a very serious 975+ HP

TXsilverado 03-05-2014 10:47 AM

that 975 was probably on borrowed time. i've seen a 7.5 hold up to 500 hp down the track. that doesnt mean that they arent known to let go with 250 hp. dont get me wrong, the 8.8 is stout for the money which is why i have one. at some point you have to go stronger though.

Well my 7.625 is .125 bigger and it will be staring down the barrel of 450-500 til it pops, and hopefully by then I will have the money for an 8.8. I actually plan to get an 8.8 with 4.10 and posi instead of getting the gears for this 7.625. Only $50 more for the 8.8.

Good pass and yeah, you definitely could hear it popping and crackling on the way down through there..
