PCMforless got my business on the cam gear/bolts/tentioner. they had a kit set up for a great price and it got rid of the spring tentioner that is prone to fail. got it for 45 bux. also went ahead and grabbed up a crank bolt, pump gaskets, and timing chain cover gasket (around crank). ended up with a 98.61 tab after shipping.

i feel like i got raped on my motor/trans mount, but it should all be bolt in and comes with polyurithane bushings. BRP hotrods offers a 10% discount to tech members. the mounts and crossmember set me back $468 shipped. i went ahead and bit the bullet on these since i got the hedman headers that are made from this mount kit.

i feel like i made out decent on the headers from summit racing 739.46 shipped for 1 7/8 longtubes ceramic coated.

wellll, i suck at being patient lol. what i originally planned to finish in december may be running by the end of the summer. my last big purchases are springs, converter and the trans rebuild/upgrades. i have a few different size pushrods laying around the garage that will hopefully work. the silverado will be donating the 40,000 cooler that it no longer needs. the silverado will also probably donate the rear end. Vince should have the transmission withing the next 2 weeks or so. i'm sure the rest of the build will nickel and dime me to death. last weekend i spent close to 100 on plugs, loctite, oil filter, paint, antisieze, bolts....the nickel dime **** that adds up REALLY fast.

all this money spent, and i have yet to touch a wrench to the s10. hard to believe i alreay sunk a little over 6,500 into this turd. this weekend i'm planning to get the silverado out and finish up my repairs so i can get it into the paint shop for a new coat of paint. while the silverado is out of the garage i may sneak the s10 in there and yank the factory 2.2 and 60e and start cleaning under the hood.

Any reason in particular you're wanting to run the filter? Do you drive down a bunch of dirt roads with it?

it came with the MSD 6012. no dirt roads, but i'll give up a little performance to keep it daily drivable. the filter will come off at the track for sure.

You'll be surprised. If you have a wideband, not the difference in a/f at idle with filter on and off

Even if it didn't hurt power that bad, its a definitely fire hazard if you ever backfire through the carb

No filter on a daily driver? That doesn't make sense.
