TXsilverado 2.0 Build Thread
#851
1996 s10 with updated 98+ front end (original automatic truck)
DJM tubular lowers
Speedway tubular uppers
new moog ball joints (short)
QA1 18 way adjustable coilovers
BRP LSx engine mounts
Hedman LSx 1 7/8 headers with 3" collectors (coated)
BRP 4l60e crossmember
dual mandrel bent 3" exhaust with the longest 3" bullets they make
ECP radiator with electric fans
all of the radiator hoses to hook up to a NBS water pump
harwood bolt on hood
calvert 1" solid aluminum drop blocks
calvert 2" drop monoleafs
calvert cal-tracs
spring sliders (truck has no shackles)
strange double adjustable shocks out back
disk brakes front and rear
weld 15x4 front
weld 15x10 rear
mickey Thompson DOT 15x6 front tires
new mickey Thompson et drag radial pros 275/60-15
bucket seats from a cavalier sitting on S10 seat tracks
steel roll pan
street scene mirrors
custom driveshaft built to handle the trans brake
ford 8.8 rear: long side cut down, tubes welded. all new bearings/races. new upgraded clutches, 4.10 gear and calvert perches welded in. rear T/A cover with cap studs.
I did a little body work to the truck so it's primered in places on the bed. someone had bed rails on the truck and I welded the holes shut. because of this I will include a 5 gallon pro plasti dip kit with the sprayer and all. the color is metallic silver mixed with anthracite gray. a pic of the color below.
the interior is currently gutted, but I can put it back together if someone takes the roller. it has no windshield currently but I can have one in it in a day. I was getting it ready for the headliner to be re-wrapped and a roll cage installed.
if anyone is seriously interested in the full roller, shoot me a PM. at this point in time I don't want to separate anything (I probably will in the end). the chassis works. dead hooks 1.46 60' times on a drag radial outfitted exactly how I drive it on the street. both front tires in the air, and it drives straight as an arrow (actually pretty boring to race lol)
I also have a 4l60e that was originally built as a FLT LVL7. I had Vince go through it and add even more billet parts, a trans brake and a deep pan. if anyone wants a solid 60e, shoot me a PM. will separate the FTI converter out from the trans.

I just scrolled this entire thread...I THOUGHT my dream car was a 69 Camaro. I still have the car, and it's badass - but I had way more fun with the s10 and never got to see the full potential of the build. Maybe it's time to part ways with the 69 and find another s10 pickup to build.

I always wanted to LS swap and Extreme S10 but there so hard to find in good shape for a reasonable price.
I have a friend that is ready to LS swap his S10 so for now I will have to live through him.
I think you should build another one!
