Extended time at higher RPM and harmonics break timing chains. The blower shouldn't affect the load on the timing set as that is all valve train load. If you discover the chain is the failure, upgrade to a quality single roller set, add the LS2 tensioner block if you dont have one and get a good harmonic dampener if you are currently using a stock piece.

I noticed it didnt have the LS2 block the last time i was in there. I'm on an innovators west balancer. I dont spend much time at high RPM. with a 3.55 gear on 34" tall tires i typically never go past the top of 2nd gear on the street at WOT.
