How hard was the 80e swap?

Is this something you'd recommend for a NEWB to undertake?

I was hoping to get nonnie's or someone's help but I'm thinking I may just try it myself...

As far as the swap itself goes... I'm a little stinkin nooblet myself... But everything is straight forward from what I can tell. Its been done so many times already there's nothing that hasn't been discovered and already been overcome.

And as for the pics... The stuffs still sitting in the shop, done, but sitting... Ill have install pics before too long. Hoping to set it in, and get it all plumbed/wired in a day by myself taking my time, and possibly putting the turbo kit together again. The trans install is gonna take a day or two alone.

I'm more referring to the physical aspect of the swap itself, not any technicalities. Things like getting the trans up on a jack, and basically just getting everything in place...

That's the easy part besides the obvious fact that's its bigger, bulkier, and will hurt more if it falls on you

Its always nice to have an extra set of hands when you're stabbing a trans... I've set motors in and transmissions too by myself in definitely less than ideal work conditions but I wouldn't recommend it by any means... Especially to someone who's never done it.

1) I'd be by myself
2) I'd be working in a parking lot
3) I've never done a trans swap before

Either....

4) Don't do it
5) Pay someone to do it
6) See if someone will let you do it at a better facility...

1,2,3 are situations I've been in, but have vowed to never ever ever ever ever do it again if I made it thru it when it was over, just save yourself, trust me.

I wont pay someone to do it.

I absolutely must be there doing some of the work myself so I know what's going on.

Not sure what to do at this point.
